Stepping Into a New Challenge
We have some exciting news to share—one of those pinch-me moments that remind me why I love what I do! Bear with me as I tell you about a premier staging project we recently took on for a home that quite literally blew my mind when I first saw it. It’s different than our typical Clouz Houz style, but that’s exactly what drew me in. I’m always up for a challenge, and this project felt like the perfect opportunity to push my creativity, showcase my versatility as a designer, and expand the scope of services we provide.
The property is nothing short of incredible. Located in Bend’s established Tetherow neighborhood, the ‘Hosmer Lake’ home already had a striking presence—an architectural masterpiece that needed just the right finishing touches to make it feel lived in, layered, and inviting. The goal? To create a vision so compelling that potential buyers could immediately see themselves stepping into this dream home.
A Vision of Relaxed Luxury
When it comes to staging, it’s never just about placing furniture in a room. It’s about storytelling, and curating a lifestyle that buyers can instantly connect with. For this project, we wanted to channel a feeling of authentic, minimal and relaxed luxury—a space that felt as effortless as it was elegant.
The overall aesthetic we envisioned encompassed these characteristics:
- Authentic – Nothing overly staged or forced, just naturally refined
- Minimal – A focus on quality over quantity, with each piece chosen with intention
- Relaxed Luxury – The kind of home that feels both high-end and deeply comfortable
- Chic & Modern – Sleek silhouettes but still “Bend,” sculptural moments, and a blend of textures to add warmth
- Comfortable – A home that looks beautiful but is also meant to be lived in
With this approach, we wanted to strike the perfect balance between aspirational and attainable. We envision the kind of space that feels exclusive but also welcoming—a home that’s not just stunning to look at but one that invites you to linger a little longer.
The Power of Staging: Why It Matters
Here at Clouz Houz, we believe that what distinguishes houses on the market is their ability to resonate with potential buyers. It’s not just about filling a space with furniture we have in our inventory; it’s about crafting an emotional connection for each space.
So, what does it mean to create a lifestyle vision?
We use designer-quality furniture and unique pieces to craft a look tailored to the home. This isn’t one-size-fits-all staging—it’s a curated approach that considers architecture, lighting, and flow.
We create a space where buyers can envision themselves living. This is the fantasy home that appeals to the masses, while still feeling distinctive and personal.
We bring the story of the home to life. Every home has a narrative, and staging is what transforms it from a blank slate into something unforgettable.
And, the numbers don’t lie:
- 85% of staged homes sell for 5 to 23% over their listing price
- Staged homes spend 73% less time on the market
- 81% of buyers say that a staged home makes it easier for them to envision themselves living there
For this project, we took things a step further—the furniture itself is part of the sale of the home! Every item we bring into the space will be sold with the home … because a world-class home deserves world-class furnishings.
Bringing the Vision to Life
We’re so excited to share more behind-the-scenes moments as we bring this project to life! From concept to completion, we’ll be walking you through our vision and design approach. Expect mood boards, details on the pieces we selected, and a deeper dive into what makes this home so special.
Inside Our Hosmer Lake Staging Project: A Story of Elevated Living
The Entryway: Setting the Tone
First impressions matter, and in staging, the entryway sets the stage for everything to come. For this space, we wanted to create a feeling of effortless sophistication—nothing too fussy, just a perfectly curated balance of warmth and minimalism.
The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a mix of large-scale elements that bring an air of grandness but still feel inviting. A round entry table grounds the space, layered with natural hides for an organic, lived-in feel. A large mirror adds height and reflects light beautifully, while oversized vases filled with branches introduce movement and a soft, natural element.
The goal? To make you pause. To feel the kind of intrigue that makes you want to step further into the home and experience more.
The Heart of the Home: Dining, Kitchen, and Living Spaces
The real magic of a home lies in its communal spaces—the areas where people gather, eat, and unwind. These rooms set the scene for connection, so we focused on making them feel approachable yet elevated.
Dining Room: Casual Elegance
The dining room is simple but not underwhelming—just the right mix of statement lighting and soft, welcoming textures. Slipcovered dining chairs in a neutral fabric add a relaxed but refined look, while a dark wood dining table brings depth. Layered jute rugs provide an earthy foundation, and the art and accessories reflect a refined yet grounded aesthetic.
This is a space where long dinners can unfold over candlelight; where every seat feels like the best one in the house.
Kitchen: Warmth in Every Detail
The kitchen is where function meets beauty, and this one has it all. Natural wood cabinetry adds warmth against the crispness of the countertops. We leaned into organic textures—think handmade ceramics, textured bar stools, and stone accents—to enhance the lived-in feel.
And the best part? The kitchen island. It’s the natural gathering spot, designed for effortless hosting. Whether it’s a morning coffee ritual or an evening with friends, this space feels welcoming, intimate, and just the right amount of luxurious.
Living Room: A Lesson in Layering
The living room needed to be a space that felt both luxurious and approachable. A large, neutral sectional invites you to sink in, while layered textures—bouclé ottomans, a woven jute rug, soft throws—add dimension and warmth. A deep leather accent chair introduces a grounding moment, while curated books, sculptural vases, and art pieces make the space feel storied.
The key to this room? It doesn’t feel overdone. It’s lived-in luxury, meant to be enjoyed.
The Deck: A Dream for Entertaining
Stepping outside, the covered patio is where the home truly shines. We envisioned this space as the ultimate hosting spot—multiple seating zones, a fire feature for those cooler Bend nights, and a dining setup that feels intimate yet open.
The seating is arranged to encourage conversation: a mix of plush lounge chairs around the fire, a rustic outdoor dining table with linen-draped chairs, and sculptural accent chairs that add a fun design moment.
This is a space for golden-hour gatherings, for sipping wine under the stars, for creating those effortless summer moments that linger long after the season is over.
And to take it one step further … outfit inspo, duh!

Why This Staging Project is Different
What makes this project unique is that it’s not just about staging—it’s about selling a lifestyle. The furnishings are being sold with the home, meaning every piece was chosen not just to photograph beautifully but to live beautifully. It’s a curated experience, an opportunity to step into a fully realized home that’s move-in ready with world-class design.
This is the kind of project that reminds me why I love what I do. 🤍
