Read MoreOne of the biggest misconceptions about beautiful homes is that they’re created through an unlimited budget or endless luxury options.
However, we believe the most meaningful spaces begin with clarity—understanding how you want to live, how you want a space to function, and how you want people to feel when they walk through the door.
We help homeowners create spaces that feel personal, collected, and deeply connected to their lives. Through thoughtful design, practical guidance, and intentional investments, we help clients transform everything from single rooms to full-home renovations into homes they’ll love for years to come.
Serving clients in Oregon, Tennessee, and nationwide.
A more in-depth look at the layers behind our work—where materials, sourcing, and design decisions are thoughtfully unpacked.
Between the Layers breaks down how we approach each space, so you can apply the same thinking to your own.

September always does something to my design brain.
These are 5 things I can’t stop pinning right now as we head into fall. Some were already working into our own home and some are showing up in client projects.
I’m going much deeper on all five in today’s Design Board Pinnings—how I’d actually use them, the ideas I’m saving, pieces I’ve sourced + a few things we’re doing at Sixth Street.
It lands in inboxes later today. Comment ‘LIST’ (or link in bio) and I’ll send you the link to subscribe so you don’t miss it.
Interior designer by day. Reluctant content creator... also by day, apparently.
When I started this business in 2022, I knew I’d be designing homes, meeting with clients, sourcing, problem solving, running a team-all the things I genuinely love.
What I didn’t quite account for was how often I’d have to stand in front of a camera and attempt to form a coherent sentence.
Almost four years in and, unfortunately, this part has not gotten any easier. But sharing our work, my ideas, the things I’m learning and even some of the messier parts of running a small business has become such a big part of what we do.
So here’s a little peek at what normally gets cut from the final edit.
Fellow designers/business owners... please tell me I’m not the only one with 47 takes of a 10-second sentence.
The finished photos are fun, but honestly, the decisions behind them are the part I could talk about all day.
Why we vaulted a ceiling. Where we found a way to save without sacrificing the look. How we made something completely custom out of a pretty standard material.
The tiny decisions that no one would ever notice—but completely change how a room feels.
That’s really why I started Between the Layers. It’s where I can go beyond the reveal and share the why behind what we do, what I’ve learned along the way, and the things I’d absolutely do again (or maybe wouldn’t 😂).
If you like knowing what’s behind the pretty photo, I think you’ll like it over there.

Your room might not need more furniture. It might just need finished windows.
I will die on this hill. 😂
Window treatments have this incredible way of making everything else in a room feel more intentional—the ceiling feels taller, the architecture feels better, and even furniture you’ve had forever somehow looks more considered.
I shared the window treatments throughout our own home a while back and apparently this struck a nerve because it became one of our most talked-about Between the Layers posts. So, bringing it back for anyone who missed it. I’m sharing what we used, where I spent more, where I absolutely did not, and the little details I think make the biggest difference.
Comment “WINDOWS” and I’ll send you the full post.
A little Monday note.
I started Between the Layers because I realized there was so much I wanted to share that just didn’t really fit here.
Sometimes it’s design. Sometimes it’s a source I can’t stop thinking about. Sometimes it’s what I would do differently in my own home.
It’s become a place for me to share a little more freely and go a little deeper — and I’ve really loved writing it.

Maybe this is why this quote hit me so hard.
I’m in a season where I feel both incredibly grounded in who I am and also... still figuring out what I want the next chapter to look like.
And I think both can be true.
You can love the life you’ve built and still want to evolve it. You can miss old versions of your life without wanting them back. You can be grateful for where you are and excited to see where you go next.
There’s something really freeing about realizing we’re allowed to keep becoming.
Back in my natural habitat 😂 Plans, samples, a
million ideas, and getting to walk through them with our clients IN PERSON
One of my favorite parts of making a new house feel like home is pulling these back out. Although I could do without the reminder of just how quickly it all goes.
Dinner at Southall and I think it officially convinced me I need to make a Tennessee recommendations post.
Just two girls who believe deeply in the importance of breakfast.🥞
Proof that sometimes the answer really is just... paint it yellow. 💛
