The September Edit: Curated, Seasonal Must-Haves

Ah, September—my favorite time of year, and also my birthday month (happy Libra season)! There’s something about the transition from summer to fall that always feels like a fresh start. The air is crisper, the colors in Bend start to shift, and that little taste of autumn we get makes everything feel just a bit cozier.

I don’t know about you, but this month is when I really start to dig into my closet for those rich neutrals, the textures that just scream “fall.” And, of course, anything that gives me a little extra dose of that Western spirit. September in the high desert brings out my inner cowgirl! I’m all about embracing the warm tones of camel, muddy oranges, red clay, and warm oak. This is the month where my style feels the most “me,” and I’m here for it.

The September Edit

Our styles and spaces are always evolving, right? Well, September is the perfect month to lean into those changes. Whether it’s refreshing your wardrobe or swapping out some summer décor for pieces that feel a bit more snug and inviting, this edit has everything you need to get inspired for the season ahead. So, let’s dive into the things I think you’ll love this month!

What’s Inspiring Us This September

What’s Inspiring Us This September

This month, I’m all about those warm, inviting tones that give that cozy touch. Benjamin Moore’s “Pomegranate” is absolutely captivating me right now. It’s a deep, rich red with just the right amount of warmth. If you’re looking to make a statement while still keeping things cozy and welcoming, “Pomegranate” is the way to go.

What I’m Wearing This Month

Let’s talk fashion. September is all about layering, and this month’s picks speak to comfort … and a little bit of fun!

First up, The Horse Lodge Cardigan. Listen, if you don’t have a sweater with a horse (or some kind of playful print) on it for fall, get on it! Seriously, this cardigan is a must-have for cooler days, and it’s got that perfect mix of personality and cozy.

Next, an Embroidered Daisy Bandana. I love throwing a bandana into my accessories lineup. It’s an easy way to take a basic look and make it feel a bit more personal and elevated. Plus, it’s a nod to that Western vibe that we can’t get enough of!

Now, let’s talk about the Lace DÔEN Blouse. This antique-inspired top gives you all the romantic, vintage feels. With its intricate embroidered floral lace, puffed sleeves, and mother-of-pearl buttons, it’s the kind of piece that makes you feel like a million bucks — even if you’re just heading out for coffee.

And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a little something for the accessory lovers out there. The Silver and Turquoise Arm Cuff is a dream. If you know me, you know turquoise is my thing—I’m constantly growing my collection. This cuff is perfect for adding a touch of Western flair without having to splurge on the real deal. Oh and I’m heading to the Pendleton Roundup soon — so stay tuned for some rodeo content if you want to see how I style my jewelry!

Styling Your Home

Fall is the season of coziness, and my home is all about creating that warm, inviting vibe right now.

Here’s how I achieve this: first things first, it’s time to swap out those summer pillows and bedding. Sorry, but the season for lightweight, breezy décor is officially over. I’m loving this pillow cover—it’s got that perfect autumnal pattern that feels rich and inviting. This is an easy way to transition your space into fall.

To finish things off, let’s not forget printed sheets. There’s nothing better than slipping into a fresh set of sheets at the end of a long day, especially when they’ve got a subtle, beautiful print that feels both modern and timeless.

An Antique Iron Log Holder is essential for keeping your firewood tidy and off the wet ground, and the rustic wrought iron is a lovely fall material. If you’re into minimalist, sleek designs, this log holder fits the bill perfectly.

Do you love to host cozy, candlelit dinners as the nights get cooler? If so, you’ll appreciate these Upholstered Swivel Dining Chairs. It’s the kind of piece that makes those long, lingering meals feel extra special and elegant.

For those who are all about timeless, traditional style, this Cabinet is a showstopper. Personally, I’m obsessed with the linen curtains on this piece. It’s a detail we’re incorporating into the cabinets in our primary room at Tumalo, and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Lastly, the Antique Brass Faucet and Copper Pot are must-haves for adding warm, metallic touches to your kitchen. You’re sure to love the way these materials patina over time, giving them a story that’s all their own.

“Sandstone”

Make Space for Art

And, of course, no space is complete without artwork. I’ve recently discovered Steve Wrubel, at an art show here in Bend at Borgo Rosati. His work resonates with me on a whole other level. His love for capturing the rugged essence of the competition at a rodeo and transferring those images to beautiful landscapes is pretty special and unique. This western flair feels so authentic to Bend and its country vibe. Honestly, I want one of his pieces so bad; “Sandstone” is #1 on my wishlist right now.

In another life, I swear l’d be a party planner.
I always say it’ll be casual... and then suddenly I’m setting out linen napkins, picking the perfect playlist, arranging flowers like it’s the Met Gala. I just can’t help it — showing care through the details is one of my favorite ways to love on people.
Hosting has always filled my cup in a way that’s hard to explain — it’s not about being fancy, it’s about making moments feel a little more special.
If you’re the “it’ll be casual” friend too, I see you. Tag your favorite hosting partner, or send this to the friend who understands your version of “casual”!
I’ve been feeling like something was missing in our guest bath for a while now. I loved the cozy yellow walls but I found myself craving something brighter and a little lighter. Enter this linen stripe wallpaper by @sandbergwallpaper 🤍.
We even carried it onto the ceiling—and I highly recommend it. The whole room instantly felt taller, breezier, and more aligned with the rest of the home. Proof that a little pattern can go a long way, especially in small spaces. Living for this buttery moment!
