For so many years, the holidays were all about the checklist—errands, cards, wrapping, baking—phew! But this year, I’m rewriting the script. Choosing cozy nights, soaking up that holiday magic, and giving the hustle a friendly ‘see ya later.’ I want to revel in the peace, and remember, not everything needs a checkmark! Here’s to embracing joy in the quieter moments! Can I get an ‘Amen’ for laid-back holidays? Happy weekend, friends! 💋

Grab your party hats! The holiday spirit’s in full swing, and Derrick’s concocted the perfect festive cocktail to get us in the merry mood! Any guesses as to what the special ingredient may be? Save this post for the next time you’re feeling thirsty for this winter old fashioned.

Ingredients:
Maple Brown Sugar Simple Syrup-
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup dark brown sugar
• 3/4 cup 100% real maple syrup

Old Fashioned-
• 1 1/2 oz bourbon
• 3/4 oz simple syrup
• 5-6 dashes angostura bitters
• 1 large ice cube
• 1 sprig rosemary
• 1 orange twist (optional)

Instructions:
Maple Brown Sugar Simple Syrup-
1. Add water, brown sugar and maple syrup to a saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil and take off heat.
3. Once sugar is dissolved, then put it into a jar with a lid and cool in the fridge.

Old Fashioned-
1. Put a large ice cube into a whiskey glass.
2. Add bitters to glass.
3. Then add simple syrup and bourbon to the glass and stir ingredients. Add a sprig of rosemary and orange twist to garnish. Enjoy!
