We get asked about this paint color combination in our home all the time, so it felt deserving of a permanent spot on the feed.

If you’ve followed along with our renovation journey, chances are you’ve seen both of these colors throughout our home. Time and time again, we come back to @sherwinwilliams Alabaster and Shoji White.

Alabaster (on our walls) has the perfect warm, creamy undertone without feeling too yellow, while Shoji White (on the trim) adds just enough depth and softness to create contrast without ever feeling stark. Together, they create that light, layered, lived-in feeling we’re always chasing.

One thing we’ve learned after renovating and designing homes for years: there isn’t one perfect white paint color. The best choice depends on your home’s natural light, existing finishes, and the feeling you’re trying to create.

But if you’re overwhelmed by the endless paint deck and looking for a place to start, these are two colors we reach for again and again.

Save this post for your next paint project and send it to someone currently staring at paint samples trying to choose the right white.🤍
I wish more homeowners knew there was a middle ground between doing everything yourself and hiring a full-service designer.

Most people assume their only options are:
• Spend hundreds of hours figuring it out themselves
• Or hire a designer to manage the entire project

The reality is there are a lot of homeowners who simply need a clear plan.

Maybe you’re furnishing a room.
Or maybe you’re stuck between three paint colors, two floor plans, and a hundred Pinterest saves.

You don’t necessarily need someone to take over the entire project... You need someone to help you make confident decisions before you spend the money.

Comment ‘PLAN’ and I’ll send you the link to fill out our Signature Virtual Design inquiry form or schedule a free discovery call to see if it’s the right fit for your project.
