This year, I’m rethinking gift-giving. Fewer things, but better ones. Handmade, meaningful, and built to last. 

I still remember the feeling of Christmas growing up. The smell of pine and my mom’s homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, candlelight flickering on the mantle, wrapping paper that somehow always matched but never felt overdone. The gifts weren’t extravagant, but they were thoughtful. A hand knit wool sweater, a vintage record player (my parents found in the Oregonian ads- remember those days?!).
